Job Description:

Summary:

This person will serve as a key member of our finance business support group, providing accounting support directly to project teams. Tasks will primarily include project setup, invoicing, and collections.

Responsibilities will include:

S etting up projects in Deltek Vision , assisting project managers to determine the appropriate project work breakdown structure as neededReview ing contracts , p urchase orders , w ork o rders , and t ask o rders prior to invoicingPreparing and sending invoices to clients i n accordance with Barr's requirements and contractual obligationsPreviewing project reports with project managers when warranted so that corrective actions can be taken prior to preparing invoicesPreparing and running project reports from Deltek Vision, analyzing variances between budgets and actual spendingWorking closely with project managers and principals to help ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables and coordinating with clients to collect outstanding receivablesResolving accounting issues with client accounting or c ontacting staff when necessaryAnalyzing and troubleshooting issues as required

Minimum Qualifications:

4 years of experience d irectly related to the job responsibilities described aboveWorking knowledge of at least one accounting software packageDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and experience with advanced functions of Excel, such as pivot tables and chartsStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and proactively with team members and clientsSuperior analytical skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and accuracyAbility to work independently and with teams to meet client and project needsSuperior task management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, adaptability, and follow throughAb ility to work with multiple internal clients in a fast-paced environmentFlexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule to help meet project deadlinesLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in accounting , business administration, or a related fieldExperience using Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint softwareExperience in multi-currency and multi-company environments

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Ann Arbor, Michigan; Bismarck, North Dakota; Duluth, Minnesota; Hibbing, Minnesota; Grand Rapids, Michigan; or Minneapolis, Minnesota, office s.
